That’s why we don’t just design lighting for spaces—we design lighting for people.
Bernd Beisse is the driving force behind the company and has been synonymous with outstanding design and the highest level of expertise in the field of lighting for over 25 years. As a designer and developer, he explores the subconscious effects of light on our well-being. For over 10 years, his focus has been on refining the “Mental Balance by Light” concept—an evolution of his earlier “Emotional Lighting” approach. Using patented dual-lens technology, he translates this knowledge into concrete lighting solutions. With clients such as Armani, Swisscom, and Adidas, his design firm has completed over 1,000 projects throughout Europe. Beyond the field of lighting, the Bernd Beisse Design Studio develops solutions for pioneering products in the areas of fragrance, furniture design, and education. As a co-founder and board member of a “School of the Future,” Bernd Beisse is also personally committed to helping shape new approaches to education.

Behind Bernd Beisse Design stands a diverse, international team of developers, quality management specialists, and production and sales partners in Italy and other countries. Each discipline brings its own perspective—from technical development and manufacturing to on-site sales in the respective markets. What unites us is a shared goal: We are consistently advancing product and service quality so that DAS LICHT creates a positive atmosphere for as many people as possible. This diversity of experience and expertise is our strength—and ensures that every project is managed to the highest standards, from concept to implementation.
